Redress consumers’ concerns

To maintain hassle-free distribution across the State, the officers of the food department must ensure adequate stocks of essentials. Specific instructions must be issued to the officers to take necessary steps to provide ration to all such employees and their families who have moved with the Durbar move besides it should be ensured that every beneficiary coming under National Food Security Act (NFSA) or Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) should receive allotted quota of food-grains from one place only and there should be no deviation of the standing instructions. In this regard, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) officers should ensure that consumers are provided with quality food-grains. Need is to formulate a committee that will monitor the quality of food-grains to be procured and its members should carry out inspection and furnish a detailed report to the minister’s office. Also, the forest department officials should expedite the distribution of timber and firewood among local population and Masjid committees in view of ensuing winter as the department has adequate stock of timber and firewood at their depots and the disbursal of same should be made hassle-free. The grievances of people must be listened and redressed as the present government has time and again reiterated its commitment to provide relief to people. So, officials must work with zeal to ensure that people don’t face any kind of inconvenience.
