Srinagar, Jan 2: One of opposition members in state legislature has moved a motion to amend Motion of the thanks.
CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam M. Y. Tarigami has proposed several amendments to governor’s address to regret that there was no mention of any plan to initiate a credible process of dialogue with all stake holders including “voices of dissent”.
“To regret that there is no mention of mandate given to special representative appointed by Government of India. To regret that there is no mention of banning the use of pellet guns in the state..to regret that there is no mention of releasing the political prisoners ..to regret that there is no mention of considering the withdrawal of Disturbed Areas Act (DDA) and repealing of AFSPA…to regret that there is no mention of the measures to be taken to face the severe electricity crisis curing winters in Kashmir and other areas of the state.”
