Srinagar, Jan 3: (GNS) Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik was on Wednesday arrested by police from party office and shifted to central jail Srinagar on a judicial remand, JKLF spokesperson said.
In a statement issued to GNS, the spokesperson said police on Wednesday afternoon cordoned the JKLF office at Abi Guzar and arrested Malik.
Before his arrest, JKLF chairman while talking to media said, “Jammu Kashmir has been turned into a police garrison and a big jail where no one is allowed to move or speak freely. Arresting people, placing them under house arrest, clamping curfews and restrictions have become order of the day.”
“The so-called rulers propagated sugar-coated slogans like healing touch, battle of ideas and no bullet but talks and tried to deceive people by these catchphrases,” Malik said. “History bears witness to the fact that all suppressed nations who fought for their freedom and self-determination faced bullying from the oppressors but that coercion never succeeded in putting those nations into submission or defeat their struggle.” (GNS)
