Srinagar, Aug 12: Taking a note of the amount of talent lurking from every nook and corner of the Kashmir Valley, the Army has taken the responsibility to boost the talent of these young men and women and spread their competence within the state as well as the entire country, a defence spokesman in a statement issued here said.
In continuation of their efforts to encourage the physically challenged youth of the state, the Army has sponsored the “Jammu and Kashmir State Paralympic Cricket Team” and donated furniture, computer and other utilities to the team for setting up an office at Wahahama, Bijbihera, he said.
In past, the Army has arranged for the kits, has sponsored the team for a national level tournament and has conducted a tournament in the valley for the disabled. While interacting with the players and their relatives the Army assured that all possible assistance will be given to the youth of Kashmir in future as well. The Jammu and Kashmir Paralympic cricket team members thanked the Army for providing them with such a huge help, he said.
