Srinagar, July 14: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Friday said war is neither option nor a solution and that all issues can be resolved through dialogue.

“We stress that resolution passed in UNO be implemented in letter and spirit and let people decide their future course of political destiny of state,” Geelani said in a statement.

He said New Delhi’s claims of being a great democracy in the world are proving hollow and instead they follow their “bigoted dogma”.

Geelani said Kashmiris are pursuing a legitimate struggle and criticized Delhi for its “barbaric and inhuman approach”.

He said Delhi has no sympathy with Kashmiris but its sole aim is to continue grip on the territory. He also denounced the attack on Amarnath Yatris and hailed youth for their exemplary and sympathetic approach towards injured pilgrims.

Commenting over the unity among resistance leaders, Geelani said the alliance will be maintained at all costs in future. “We appeal people to act on the joint-led programs,” he said.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson of Hurriyat has termed statement of MoS at PMO Jitendra Singh as “meaningless and non-realistic”.

“These pointless and arrogant statements can’t change the discourse and reality of Kashmir dispute,” he said.

The spokesperson said the international scenario is changing and all issues related to disputed territories are resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding.
